What is it?
Lumenis Optima IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a revolutionary treatment. It gently and effectively treats Meibomian Gland Dysfunction with maximum safety and comfort. Treatment is also customised to your skin type and condition.

Is It Safe?
Optima IPL is next-generation IPL technology developed by Lumenis. This first-of-its-kind light-based therapy uses our patented OPTT M technology with SapphireCool tips to treat the eye area (periocular regions) safely, gently and effectively. How does it work?
Optima IPL Technology
Our unique energy-based technology uses IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) to stop the vicious cycle of dry eye due to MGD (Meibomian Gland Dysfunction):

Optima IPL Treatment
Your practitioner will apply coupling gel on the treatment area to ensure comfort. You will wear IPL protective shields throughout the treatment session for eye safety. You may experience a warm sensation as light is applied to the skin, but this is normal: the treatment is gentle with minimum discomfort. Each session lasts approximately 15 minutes.
Following the Optima IPL procedure, your practitioner may express your meibomian glands as an optional procedure.

IPL targets the pigment on the surface of the skin or blood vessels below the surface.
